Diesel Technician (Logistics Industry) – Sandton
One of our large fleet management clients based in Sandton are urgently in need of a Qualified Diesel Technician within the Fleet/Logistics Industry to start as soon as possible.
Salary: Negotiable (Plus overtime remuneration and use of Company Vehicle when on Standby) depending on experience
Requirements:
Grade 12
Own Transport
Qualified Diesel Mechanic (Red Seal qualification obtained)
Recent experience as a diesel mechanic a must, specifically in a transport or logistics work environment
Experience with hydraulic and electrical systems, and strong understanding of diesel engine systems
Experience in repairing and maintaining large commercial vehicles, including trucks and trailers.
Able to use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify mechanical issues
Duties:
Full Diesel Mechanic duties - (Fleet of trucks and vehicles)
Perform diagnostic, repair, and maintenance services on diesel engines and related components.
Conduct routine inspections of vehicles and machinery to ensure proper operation.
Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical problems and provide solutions for repair.
Replace faulty components, such as fuel pumps, filters, and turbochargers.
Ensure all repairs comply with safety and regulatory standards.
Maintain a clean and organised work area.
Keep accurate records of maintenance work and parts used.
Respond to breakdowns and provide on-site repairs when necessary.
Work effectively with the team to ensure timely vehicle repairs and minimise downtime
