The right candidate will preferably hold a diploma or degree in Agricultural science/management or agronomy.
Must be hands-on and willing to learn all technical and practical aspects of the farm.
All training will be provided, must possess a passion for agricultural systems and seek to learn precision farming methods.
Must be computer literate and must be reasonably mechanically minded.
Main duties include:
1. Overseeing of staff in their allocated tasks
2. Running and maintaining irrigation system and in field repairs
3. Monitoring herbicide and pesticide spray applications
4. Monitoring of pruning practices
5. Involvement in scouting for pests and diseases
6. Monitor automated nursery system and ensure plants are irrigated and sprayed
7. Supervise mulching operation and mulch application in orchard
8. Identify sick trees and monitor treatment
9. Supervise all earthmoving activities, including road repairs and general farm maintenance
10. Involvement in all aspects of mechanical harvesting and factory processing.
