IT Support Technician

The IT Technician provides technical support, maintenance, and troubleshooting for hardware, software, and network systems/CCTV. This role ensures smooth day-to-day IT operations, supporting staff and business processes by resolving issues efficiently and implementing best practices in IT management.
Key Responsibilities
• Technical Support
o Provide first-line support for desktops, laptops, printers, and other IT equipment.
o Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues.
o Assist users with system access, password resets, and application support.
• System Maintenance
o Install, configure, and update operating systems and applications.
o Maintain and monitor network infrastructure, including switches, routers, and firewalls.
o Ensure antivirus, backups, and security patches are up to date.
• Documentation & Reporting
o Maintain accurate records of IT assets, incidents, and resolutions.
o Prepare reports on system performance and recommend improvements.
• Training & Guidance
o Provide user training on IT systems, applications, and cybersecurity best practices.
o Support staff in adopting new technologies and tools.
• Compliance & Security
o Ensure adherence to IT policies, data protection regulations, and cybersecurity standards.
o Monitor systems for unauthorized access or security breaches.
📋 Qualifications & Skills
• Education:
o Higher Certificate, Associate Degree, or National Diploma in IT, Computer Science, or Information Systems.
• Certifications:
o CompTIA A+ and N+ (required).
o Additional CompTIA certifications (e.g., Security+, Network+) advantageous.
• Technical Skills:
o Strong knowledge of hardware troubleshooting and repair.
o Familiarity with Windows, Linux, and macOS environments.
o Understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
o Experience with Microsoft Office 365 and cloud services.
• Soft Skills:
o Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
o Strong communication and customer service orientation.
o Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proactive and detail-oriented.
• Adaptable to fast-paced environments.
• Strong commitment to continuous learning and professional development
• + 2 years relevant experience in such duties as above
