Job Description: Stock Controller (Buyer)

The Stock Controller (Buyer) is responsible for ensuring the continuous availability of certified, traceable, and cost effective inventory required for operational efficiency. The role involves monitoring stock levels, sourcing quality products, maintaining accurate records, and managing supplier relationships to support seamless procurement and inventory control processes.
Key Responsibilities
• Monitor stock levels daily and initiate timely purchase orders to prevent shortages or delays.
• Source and procure quality products at competitive prices while ensuring compliance with certification and traceability requirements.
• Maintain accurate and up to date inventory records, supplier information, and documentation.
• Verify that all incoming stock meets required standards, specifications, and certification criteria.
• Liaise with suppliers to resolve discrepancies, delivery issues, or invoice queries.
• Support inventory forecasting, planning, and replenishment strategies.
• Conduct regular stock reconciliations and assist with audits when required.
• Ensure proper handling, storage, and rotation of stock in line with company procedures.
• Collaborate with internal departments to ensure procurement aligns with operational needs.
• Perform physical tasks associated with stock handling, including lifting items up to 14 kg.
Minimum Requirements
• Proven experience in purchasing, procurement, or stock control.
• Working knowledge of inventory management systems (e.g., Pastel, Matrix, or similar).
• Strong analytical and numerical skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work under pressure, multitask, and meet deadlines.
• Computer literate with strong internet research and supplier sourcing capabilities.
• Physically able to lift and move stock items up to 14 kg.
